Carignan is a late-ripening variety that thrives in a very warm climate, making it perfect for Texas. The resulting grapes can be used to craft robust single-variety wines or to blend, adding wild forest and berry aromas. This wine is dry and medium-bodied, with a vibrant tart throughline. The acidity cuts through a thicket of wild berries, violets, and gentle tannins. Wild and dark berries are prominent, with a juicy intensity that smells almost sweet, but then comes through nicely dry on the palate. Perfect with food. In October 2025, Cristaldi & Co. rated this Carignan 94 points out of 100.
