Perissos Vineyards and Winery Aglianico 2022

We’re proud of our Aglianico’s long standing reputation in the wine drinking community, and the new 2022 vintage carries on this tradition very well. The warm late growing season of 2022 produced good ripening and fruit quality, resulting in a wine that presents a rich tawny ruby hue and an intense nose full of cherry, plum, and baking spice with smoky, vanilla and cocoa hints thanks to two years of European and American oak aging. The full palate weight is balanced by crisp acidity and big yet rounded tannins complimenting the red fruit and spice aromatics. The finish is clean with lingering fruit, making this wine a natural complement for everything from grilled steaks and other red meats to tomato sauce based Italian cuisine, hearty braises and stews, aged hard cheeses and charcuterie. - James Suckling 90 points. - Gold and Best in Category at the 2024 Lone Star International Wine Competition. - Gold at the 2025 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
