McPherson Cellars Block Select Tempranillo 2022

Tempranillo is, at its best, a lovesong to earth and wood. Above all other grapes we grow, it holds the memory of the land and tastes truly of the vineyard's soil: crushed stones, blood, black raspberries, brushwood ash... all blessed with the tempering kiss of sweet oak and dusted with a coating of superfine tannins, like bitter cocoa powder on a chocolate dipped almond. Dark and brooding, this wine blossoms with patience and maybe even some decanting. Watch it bloom alongside a skillet of bacon topped twice-baked potatoes.
