Big Improvements Coming Soon!

Big Updates Are Coming to Top Texas Wines

We are in the middle of refreshing Top Texas Wines with new and improved features, and you will start seeing changes roll out over the next few days.

Behind the scenes, we have rebuilt the process with the help of AI. That means AI is now helping power the full workflow — from crawling winery websites and identifying wines, to keeping prices and availability up to date, to importing competition awards and matching those awards to the correct wines on winery websites.

Here is the list of major improvements that we think you are going to love:

  • Wine listings are kept up to date including prices and availability.
  • Wines now include product descriptions from the winery.
  • Wines can now be listed in multiple categories. If a wine is described as a Sangiovese leading Red Blend, it will be listed in Sangiovese and Red Blend.
  • Awards are added more quickly.
  • All awards are now recognized and counted, including Bronze and Silver.
  • Competitions that provide point scoring, like a 95 from Decanter, are now included.
  • There is a new Competitions section that lists all included Competitions and results.
  • Wineries are now listed in multiple regions if they have multiple tasting rooms.
  • Winery rankings are now updated after each wine competition, instead of only at the end of the year.
  • Winery listing pages now include descriptions of the winery, links to social media, maps and a link to call the winery directly.

This is a big step forward for the site and for Texas wine fans. With these improvements, we can expand our coverage and include even more Texas wines than before. In addition to Gold medal winners, the site will now also begin featuring Silver and Bronze medal wines, giving you a broader view of the outstanding wines being made across Texas.

As always, Top Texas Wines remains dedicated exclusively to wines made from 100% Texas grapes. That commitment is not changing.

During this transition, you may notice some errors or inconsistencies in wines, categories, or awards as the refreshed system rolls out. AI is a powerful tool, but it is not perfect. We are committed to correcting any issues you find. Please use the Contact Us page to report any errors, omissions, or corrections you would like to see, and we will get right on it.

It is now more important than ever that Winery websites be accessible to AI. The listings and information on our website is solely based on what AI can see when it reads a Winery website, so if you see your favorite Winery not listed or missing important information please let them know to contact us for ideas on how to improve their website.

Thank you for following along and supporting this project. We are excited about what these new tools will make possible, and we look forward to sharing an even better Top Texas Wines experience with you very soon.

Cheers,
Bryan
